PRP, also known as the “vampire facial” or “vampire facelift”, is a process where a platelet-rich mixture is obtained by spinning a sample of the patients’ blood in a centrifuge which separates the plasma from the red blood cells. The doctor then extracts healing platelets from the base of the plasma gel and injects them into target areas on the face or in conjunction
with microneedling after numbing the area to avoid discomfort. PRP works because the increased platelets in skin stimulate collagen production and promote tissue recovery, smoothing the skin and removing fine lines and wrinkles. There is virtually no risk of adverse reaction since the plasma is extracted from the patient’s own body. Platelets are rich in growth factors,
which essentially act as energy boots for our skin. This helps our skin function optimally, increasing everything from collagen to elastin, while also bringing antioxidant and hydrating properties.

PRP can also be used for many different things on different parts on the body. Click on the links below for more information.
